Ride Entry – 27th July 2009
Bike: Vela
Distance: 43 miles
Well not the monster ride I’d hoped for but it was raining all morning and I had loads to do. Didn’t leave the house till about 2pm. Anyway, really windy indeed. But still enjoyable. No real incidents or peaks to speak of. Passed quite a few people including a grey haired old lady. I was going to slow down and taunt her to see if she could put a spurt on but then remembered the last time I did that, best leave well alone.
Because of my crap performance, I’m going to force myself to ride punishment rides all week now. Proper pain rides.

Just a “head’s up” there’s the UK Ironman thing on around here next weekend (sunday) so there’s road closures from anderton center to bolton (the running marathon route) from 8am to Midnight, and probably some annoying road-ride stuff going, up and over to belmont->abbey village, across the chorley, over to somewhere (forgot) and back through adlington (112 mile route, mostly out toward southport)
That could be annoying to come across. There’s a map on the Ironman Uk website, if you want to avoid / chase people down
This morning was Ridiculous on the hill, couldn’t see more than 50ft, hammering like crazy. arse

Yeah, I saw the road closure signs. Might be worth taking a day trip out somewhere on Sunday. Or actually getting an offroad bike out and blasting round on that. It’ll be interesting to see what effect my new fitness campaign has had on my offroad riding.
