Then in a fit of near brilliant incompetance, we decided to send it back to Germany.

The guy phones me up, he’s outside our house. He’s already dragged the box from the van and is now annoyed that I’m not in. I tell him that they had originally set the delivery date as the 20th and then changed it to the 19th with no warning, sorry pal, but that’s not my fault.
He asks which of my neighbours will take it as ‘It’s a ballache taking it back to the depot’. Only one neighbour has a key so after about ten minutes of me describing which one (It’s almost right opposite our house with three broken down cars on the drive, you can’t miss it but this guy really struggled), it turns out they’re not in. So he says our next door neighbour is in, (no fucking chance pal, he goes out and leaves his doors open), and next to him is in. Now this is a little old lady who we know well but I’m reluctant to have this slightly aggressive van driver knock on her door and push a massive bike box into her living room. I start to say no but it’s too late, he’s hung up. Looks like she told him to do one, good.
He’s probably giving the box a good kicking on the way back to the depot now.
Still, I’ll be in all day tomorrow ‘working’, well, until the bike turns up anyway, after that it’s call in some flexi-time time.

my ti29er did that, Holland, UK, Holland, UK, Me… then it broke within 2 months.

well done. There are significant changes on the close horizon though which may well allow be to haul you back in, possibly. Unless you go crazy again.

I’m settling on 40miles a day, rather than last year’s 50, so, if it rains that’ll drop to 35.
I’m not really bothered about distance anymore, I just do longer rides when it’s sunny / I can be bothered / on Wednesday or Saturdays.
been up belmont climb 6 times now, last year 0 times, it’s fandabbydozie now, proper good quality climb.
and that new Bridleway though to to Brinscall is really very very handy for whipping across to Darwin.

I haven’t even done 1000 miles this year, have been a proper slacker. Hopefully warmer weather will help me bump that up a bit.

They’re fecking mental! Now the delivery date has changed to today and there’s no way to rearrange it. I eventually managed to speak to someone on the phone and he said, oh if we can’t deliver it we’ll try again the next day, not interested in saving money/time at all.
Plus I’ve now got a stinking head cold brought on by my swim last night so probably won’t be able to ride it.

woot! It’s here, the driver came back and looked seriously pissed off. Fuck him though.
I was actually in bed with illness when it arrived so didn’t do much fondling. I built it up and rode it down the road and back and it feel FANTASTIC! for sure. So rigid and solid, brakes are the wrong way round despite me telling them twice to set them up our way rtound but still, it feels absolutely great and so light!
Proper ride tomorrow.

bit late, that, later on the 28th it updated saying attempted delivery at 3am,
im pretty sure id have noticed, if someones knocking on my door at 3am, it better be to tell me someone died, not to deliver spokes
